BELLMOUTH PASSAGE FOOTBRIDGES, CANARY WHARF
Yee Associates were commissioned to design two 18m opening footbridges spanning the North and South sections of Bellmouth Passage, to provide direct pedestrian access to new office and retail developments via glazed connections, escalators and lifts.
The developed concept is a lifting tubular walkway that climbs up two free standing steel trusses.
The lifting section is a steel through truss with tubular cladding. The curved glazing is screen printed to minimise solar gain and ventilation is provided by adjustable high level louvers.
